Urban Inspiration – Magazine Cover Shoot

Check us out on the Front Cover of County Brides Magazine 2019/2020

We had the absolute pleasure of being selected to work on the cover shoot of County Brides magazine with some of the wedding industries finest suppliers.

This started with a fabulous day location scouting in Liverpool – Not a bad life hey !!!

We knew we wanted to create a stunning visual image and push the boundaries a little, moving away from the cliche of traditional magazine front covers.

We found an amazing area within the Baltic Triangle, in liverpool, this is a hugely creative area showcasing some stunning urban art and amazing graffitti.

We knew straight away that we had found our location !!!!

We had the idea of playing with the juxtapostion of the stunning, simplicity of the wedding gown against an urban, city back drop and this area didn’t dissapoint.

We were spoilt for locations and were brimming with inspiration.

If you are getting married in or around Liverpool then you will be spoilt for choice with amazing, inspiring urban back drops for your photography.

This shoot was an absolute dream for us combining the two things we love Wedding Photography and architectural photography, City weddings are a particular love of mine.

We worked with the amazing team at Liverpool Bridal Boutique (www.liverpoolbridalboutique.co.uk) to create the look and the girls came up with the perfect wedding dresses, simple yet elegant and really on trend.

Our model on the day was Joanna Johnson, Joanna was an absolute pleasure to work with and absolutley made the shoot, We absolutley LOVE this image from the day with our bride in front of the iconic ‘For all Liverpools Liver birds’ by Paul Curtis.

Nikki Webb (mua) was on hand to create stunning make up and hair for the shoot.

Heres a little bit from Nikki about the day.

“Shoot days are always exciting, even more so when you are in the middle of liverpool. The colour, graffitti, artwork, amazingwedding dresses and photography opportunities were the optimumof this shoot. Together we had a vision for the shoot a we brought it to life for County Bride Magazine. It went like a dream. There was lots of laughter, fun and THE perfect photography opportunities through out the whole day ! The hair and makeup was inspired by 2019 bridal trends with a Nikki Webb twist, adding texture and flowers . The make up was bold, smokey eyes and lots of lashes, a must for any bride. I cant wait for the next shoot” !!

We wanted the location and the dress to be the main focal points of the images so choosing not to go for a propped or overly styled shoot ensured that all the focus was on the bride.

Some times styled shoots can become more about the propping than the subject that you are photographing so this is what we wanted to get across by keeping the image simple and letting the urban enviromnent shine through.

We would also like to say a massive thank you to Constellations Liverpool for being such great hosts on the day and the final chosen image from the shoot features artwork from the fabulous Frida stiil Vium the bird was live painted as part of contrastmuralfest

The art works created in the Baltic Triangle are nothing short of stunning and we have to give a massive shout out to the artists with out their work we wouldnt have been able to complete this project.
